Changing or Adding MFA Methods From Microsoft Office

MFA Change from Office Setup: 

How to add MFA methods from your Microsoft Profile.  You must have access to your current MFA device to change your existing MFA device if you are enrolled in MFA.

Note: A user can go directly to security info page.  They will be prompted to sign in and then immediately taken to the security info page for MFA setup.  If you click the security info link above, go to step 4.

  1. Sign into ccsoffice.org from your computer.
  2. Click your profile icon in the upper right-hand corner > Click view account.

  1. Click the security info tab.

  1. Click Add sign-in method.

  1. Select Authenticator app or phone options (other options may exist however these will not work for authentication) > Click add.

Phone Setup:

See Authenticator Setup Section Bellow if using that option.

  1. Enter the phone number of your MFA device (cell phone is recommended if you ever get prompted while at home) > Select the receive a code (text) or call me option > Click Next.

Note: Depending on your selected phone type you may only have the call option.

  1. Receive a code option.  Type in the 6-digit code sent to your phone > Click next.

Call me option:  Microsoft will call your phone with the following message.  This is Microsoft.  If you are trying to sign in, click the pound key to sign in.  Click the pound key on the phone (#) to confirm the phone number > Click the next button to advance.

  1. Click done.

Microsoft Authenticator Setup:

  1. On your phone:  Download the Microsoft authenticator application.
    Note: Clicking the Download Now will display scannable QR codes to prompt the download.

On your computer: Click Next.

  1. On your phone: Open the Microsoft Authenticator application > Click Add work or School Account > Click Scan QR code inside the Microsoft Authenticator.

Note:  Enable notifications if prompted and camera access.  Face-ID setup is optional if prompted.

On your computer:  Click Next.

Existing Users can click the plus icon in the upper right-hand corner
to add another account.

  1. On your Phone:  Scan the QR code on your screen from the Microsoft Authenticator application.
    On your computer:  Click Next

  1. On your Phone: Type the confirmation number on the screen into the Microsoft Authenticator application. 
    Note: You may get prompted to choose between three numbers instead.
    On your computer:  Click next after the code has been confirmed.

  1. Click done to proceed with login.
