MFA Microsoft Authenticator Setup

This article walks you through how to set up Microsoft Authenticator for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on your CCS account.

What You Need Before You Start


 

Step 1: Sign In on Your Computer

  1. Go to: πŸ‘‰ https://login.microsoftonline.com
  2. Sign in with your CCS email and password
  3. Click Next when prompted to begin MFA setup

 

 

 


Step 2: Install Microsoft Authenticator (on your phone)

  1. On your phone, download the Microsoft Authenticator app
  2. Open the app after installing

Step 3: Add Your CCS Account to the App

  1. Open Microsoft Authenticator
  2. Tap + (Add Account)
  3. Select Work or School Account
  4. Tap Scan QR Code

  • Camera access
  • Notifications

πŸ“Œ Face ID / biometrics are optional

 

 


Step 4: Link Your Account

  1. On your computer, click Next to display a QR code
  2. On your computer:  Click Next.
  3. On your phone, scan the QR code using the Authenticator app 

 


Step 5: Confirm the Setup

  1. A number will appear on your computer screen
  2. Enter or match the number in the Authenticator app

  1. Click Next on your computer after confirming

Note: You may get prompted to choose between three numbers instead.
 


Step 6: Finish Setup

  1. Click Done to complete setup
  2. Continue signing in

  • When signing in, you’ll approve a notification in the Authenticator app
  • This adds an extra layer of security to your account

  • Make sure your phone has internet access
  • Ensure notifications are enabled for the Authenticator app
  • If you can’t scan the QR code, ask IT for assistance
